What is Revisionary Breast Augmentation?
This is technique that aims to correct the deformities that are very occasionally seen with breast augmentation.
Who is it for?
When breast augments have been in place for a long time they age just as the breast ages. They can change in terms of both size and shape. This can cause a number of changes that can be visible. The implants can move upwards on the chest wall or downwards causing a deformity. The augments can increase or decrease in size. Revisionary breast augmentation can help to correct the problems associated with aging of the implants and the breast tissue and improve cosmesis.
What does it involve?
Often one can remove the implants and the capsule surrounding the implant and replace implants either in the same pocket (subglandular/submuscular) or in a dfifferent pocket. The incisions that were used for the primary breast augmentation can be used again so that there is no additional scarring.
The recovery is similar to breast augmentation.
