Autolgous Fat Transfer Case Study 22

This lady has previously had a mastopexy elsewhere and has lost volume / weight and has preoperatively some excess skin and bottoming out in the lower pole. She wished to improve the shape and wished to improve the volume. She underwent a skin tightening procedure to help project the breast and lift the nipple areola. She had tightening of the skin while retaining as much volume as possible combined with autologous fat transfer to increase overall volume and specifically increase her upper fullness. Although breast augmentation does give a much more predictable volume enhancement it does come with its own pros and cons. Patients wishing to consider volume enhancement must have a detailed discussion regarding the pros and cons of breast augmentation and autologous fat transfer. This lady chose to have Autologous fat transfer in combination with skin tightening and this has given a result she is happy with and she has no plans to increase her breast volume further. The results are seen at 6 weeks.

When considering autologous fat transfer or fat grafting it is important to consider all the various breast rejuvenation techniques which include breast augmentation with implants and breast lift with fat/implants, breast lift alone.
