Mr Ross attended a bodyjet liposuction conference in Hamburg. As one of the few consultants performing bodyjet liposuction in the UK Mr Ross was able to watch live surgery with two of the leaders in the field and establish the developing role of autologous fat transfer in plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. Although Mr Ross has been using bodyjet liposuction and breast augmentation with autologous fat for almost 10 years the improved harvesting techniques offered by bodyjet have enabled Mr Ross over the last 5 years to refine the harvesting and delivery of fat. The goals of autologous fat transfer are to improve the quality of fat harvest and delivery. For patients safety is most important and also long term results. Improving all aspects of the autologous fat transfer technique by bodyjet aims to improve outcomes and results. Mr Ross sees an increasing role for autologous fat transfer in revisionary breast augmentation and reconstruction and with improved survival bodyjet may well alter the management of breast augmentation in the future.
