The surgery can involve several procedures in order to get the results you’re expecting. This can involve liposuction that can reduce the volume as well as excisional surgery to remove excess skin. However, some patients who have good quality skin may only require liposuction surgery. This is shown in the case study provided where a patient has only required liposuction surgery. The comparison of the pre-op and post-op pictures show a major improvement in the appearance of the patients’ arm in the front and back of the arms.
If a patient is not so lucky to have good quality skin due to weight loss or from ageing over the years, for example, patients may require arm lifting in combination with excisional surgery.
