Preparing for mummy makeover surgery

How to prepare you body and mind for mummy makeover procedures

In 2018 we’ve seen a big rise in women seeking mummy makeover procedures. These include skin removal surgery and a breast rejuvenation procedure as a rule, but can also include liposuction and body contouring treatments.

The mummy makeover made the headlines a lot this year, with more women than ever seeking cosmetic surgery to transform their bodies after having children. Typically this type of surgery includes a tummy tuck and breast uplift surgery.

Other popular procedures that can form mummy makeover surgery include liposuction and/or fat transfer or breast augmentation. You can find out more information about how to prepare for and recover from body rejuvenation surgery below.

Is this type of surgery right for you?

This is determined during a consultation with Mr Ross. This is an opportunity to ask questions and confirm which of the procedures are available to you. As a rule rejuvenation procedures like these are ideal for women looking to recontour their abdomen and breasts.

How can you prepare for mummy makeover surgery?

You should give up smoking and limit your alcohol intake. You will be given clear advice on how to best prepare your body for surgery during your consultations. You should also mentally prepare for surgery, as it can be daunting and the recovery can be draining for some patients.

What happens after surgery?

You will be taken to a recovery room before a follow-up checkup is made by Mr Ross and/or his team. You will be given pain medication to manage any discomfort. How long you need to stay is all down to your personal circumstances.

When can I go home?

You will be discharged to recover at home once the team are satisfied you’re safe to do so. You’ll need someone to drive you home.

How can I ensure my recovery at home is swift?

Ask for help from a partner or family member to recover comfortably. You should rest and let the body heal without putting it under undue stress. Follow the advice with regards to washing and wound care.

Will I need to attend check ups?

All body rejuvenation surgery patients are required to attend follow up appointments to enable Mr Ross to see how the wounds are healing and the results are as expected. You will be sent appointments and you should attend them as required.
