Skin Removal Scars With Fleur De Lis Abdominoplasty

Last week we discussed the abdominal scars from a bodylift procedure. This week, we’ll be taking a closer look into the abdominoplasty scars a patient is likely to incur during the fleur de lis abdominoplasty excess fat removal treatment.

Fleur de lis abdominoplasty is a procedure that removes more skin than a standard abdominoplasty. In this process of this excess fat removal surgery, skin on the upper part and lower part of the abdomen is removed.

This video features a previous patient that was unlikely to benefit from standard abdominoplasty, due to the amount of excess skin she had in the central part and upper part of her abdomen. Excess fat removal surgery is ideal for patients who may have developed excess skin, or for those where a standard tummy tuck may not address the excess fat issues.

The procedure will leave patients with an abdominoplasty scar that’s vertical, this should be discussed in your consultation, as the extent of the dissection can vary from patient to patient. Recovery information will also be advised upon consultation, including ways in which you can help your scars.
