Is breast augmentation and mastopexy implant painful?

Patients make a rapid recovery following breast augmentation. I do not use drains and use minimal dressings. The results are apparent
immediately and patients do not experience a lot of pain. Patients can go home on the day of surgery if they wish. If patients have young children they may choose to stay overnight. I encourage early mobilization and pain postoperatively is uncommon although I do advise patients to wear a supportive bra for 4 weeks postoperatively. The recovery for a mastopexy implant is similar and again I do not use drains and use minimal dressings. Patients usually stay in overnight and are encouraged to mobilize immediately in a supportive bra that they should wear for 6 weeks.
