Will my lips be swollen after dermal filler injection?

Dermal fillers injected into the lip do cause swelling. This is apparent immediately after injection and the lip can swell over the first 24 hours after. It is uncommon for this swelling not to decrease significantly after 48 hours and usually decreases sooner.

What fillers are safe?

The FDA has approved certain fillers and increasingly insurance companies will not insure doctors who inject products not on the list of approved fillers. It is important to know the pros and cons of different products and this can be discussed at a consultation.
