In Mr Ross’s practice this is via the use of water assisted liposuction or bodyjet liposuction. The fat is then filtered and the purified fat may then be injected into the breast specifically into the areas of most concern to the patient. Mr Ross preferentially injects the fat into the muscle layer or on either side of the muscle. Mr Ross believes that around 50% or more of the fat will live long term and usually overfills patients if possible at the time of surgery. For women with larger diameter chests larger volumes may be required to give a perceptual increase in volume and patients need to be aware of the limitations of fat transfer. Certainly, breast augmentation is more predictable in terms of volume and patients need to discuss the pros and cons before proceeding with autologous fat transfer.

When considering autologous fat transfer or fat grafting it is important to consider all the various breast rejuvenation techniques which include breast lift, breast augmentation with implants and breast lift with fat/implants.

At a consultation, it is important to run through all the pros and cons and the various options of breast rejuvenation surgery so that you can be empowered to proceed. Mr Ross will show you various different results so that you can understand what can be achieved and what is to be expected. Mr Ross uses biodimensional planning, 3D software and virtual reality to help you through your journey.
